You can only enjoy this shit when you are not earning and can't pay for it. Once you start earning, and you can actually buy the tickets, your life becomes worth something (you think) and you just can't bear to be yanked to death by gravity.

  1. I feel it is the idea of taking risk. There is a thrill in taking risk. You are at risk (financially) when you are not earning anything. Once you get a job, you are secure monetarily, the zeal to take risk gets a bit less. You become more cautious, natural transformation and you do it unknowingly.
Being from economics field, I would like to tell you adventure parks are a good example of two-part tariff, where the producer is able to capture a large portion of consumer surplus by charging not only an entry fee but also a separate charge for each ride; and in the process segregating the market into different categories of consumers which helps the producer in understanding consumer preferences and forces him/her to think of devising methods how to capture more of consumer surplus.
